## iRobot Roomba s9+ vs. eufy X10 Pro Omni: Detailed Comparison
Choosing the right robot vacuum cleaner can seem like a daunting task, especially with so many options available. Today, we bring you a comparison of two high-end models: the iRobot Roomba s9+ and the eufy X10 Pro Omni. Both promise to make your floors spotlessly clean, but each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Let’s take a look at the features of each robot.
Roomba s9+ is a beast when it comes to carpet cleaning. The robot is designed for deep cleaning, not just picking up surface dirt. I was very impressed when I saw that in one test it sucked up 96% of embedded sand. That kind of performance makes me finally give up on traditional vacuum cleaners. The s9+ boasts a powerful 22 CFM suction at high speed, which is the highest of any robot vacuum cleaner I’ve seen. However, it can make a “crunching” sound when trying to suck up large debris.
On the other hand, the eufy X10 Pro Omni does an excellent job of deep carpet cleaning, picking up debris well on both hard floors and carpets. eufy uses a dual rotating mop with 1kg of pressure, which is ideal for tackling dry dirt. Another useful feature is that the mop pad automatically lifts when it senses the carpet.
Navigation and mapping
Roomba s9+ has a D-shaped design, which initially made us skeptical. However, the Roomba s9+ navigates furniture surprisingly well, pulling it up to the edges and corners. Compared to my previous round robot vacuum cleaner, this is a significant improvement. However, it’s not perfect and bumps into obstacles more often than robots on wheels, which can be a bit inconvenient.
On the other hand, the eufy X10 Pro Omni uses AI.C’s obstacle avoidance system and is very effective in dark rooms. It mapped my entire downstairs in about five minutes, which is impressive. eufy also has above-average navigation and battery efficiency, covering 138 square feet on a single charge. However, the app is a bit glitchy: it lags in real time and the maps are less useful.
Base Station and Convenience
One of the features of the Roomba s9+ is the automatically emptied clear base. It is useful in that it automatically empties the container after each cleaning. The bag has a capacity of approximately 30 containers, so you only need to change it once a month.
eufy X10 Pro Omni offers even more convenience with its universal base station. In addition to automatically emptying the dust bag, it also cleans and dries the mop head and fills the mop tank. It is truly a hands-free system that makes cleaning easier. However, you should clean the mop tank regularly to prevent odor.
Hair Removal
If you have pets or long-haired family members, hair removal is a very important factor. The Roomba s9+ does a great job with hair. We tested it with hair 7 inches long and weighing 1 gram, and it had almost no tangles in the roller and on the side brushes. There was some on the roller, but still less than usual.
eufy X10 Pro Omni also handles hair well, but not as impressively as the Roomba in this regard.
Noise and battery life
The Roomba s9+ is quite noisy, especially on the highest power setting. It also has a shorter battery life than some of its competitors, and may need to be recharged and restarted in larger homes.
eufy X10 Pro Omni has above-average battery efficiency and is generally quieter than Roomba, though not silent.
Price and Value
The Roomba s9+ is a premium investment and costs significantly more than other robot vacuums. It also requires a replacement bag for the self-cleaning base, which carries a long-term cost.
The eufy X10 Pro Omni is more affordable and offers more features. Great value for money if you’re looking for a high-end robot vacuum cleaner.
